If you are a new player in Shopify, this article can help you be familiar with the gamification mechanism. If you are an experienced dropshipper, the following 10 strategies can indeed increase sales immediately in your store.

Let’s start today’s article!

Add Reviews To Your Online Store

Consumers are constantly looking for legitimate feedback on the product they’re about to buy, but it’s bad for businesses if there’s no feedback at all. Reviews are your store’s social proof, and they’re one of the only ways you have to show how good the product you sell actually is.

Today, it’s really simple to import reviews. Only use one of the review apps in the Shopify app store, and the system can produce review automatically. Reviews will increase your store’s conversion rate, resulting in an increase in sales.

Transfer Customers Straight To The Cart Page

There won’t be any shopping sprees taking place in your store, so your best chance to make a sale is by closing the deal as quickly as you can, as a small online store owner. You must ensure that your checkout procedure is quick and easy in order to accomplish that.

If a customer clicks the Add to Cart button, you should then redirect him to the cart page, from which he can go to the checkout information page. If you keep him on the same page after he clicks the Add to Cart button, you’re just giving him more time to think, which increases the likelihood that he will leave your store without making a purchase.

It’s much simpler to sell to an existing customer than it is to acquire a new one, so concentrate on making the first sale as quickly as possible.

If you’re a Shopify store owner, you can easily send your customers to the cart page by turning off the Add to Cart notification in your theme settings. If you’re having trouble finding this option in your theme settings, follow this guide.

Increase Your Online Store Loading Speed

Additionally, there are the SEO advantages, which affect your search engine ranking and more. A few years ago, Walmart discovered that for every second improvement in page load time, conversions increased by 2%, and for every 100ms improvement, incremental revenue grew by up to 1%.

Nowadays, almost everyone has access to a high-speed internet connection, and people expect everything to load quickly with no room for error. If your store loads slower than usual, some of your customers may become irritated and leave.

Therefore, you must ensure that your store loads quickly if you don’t want to lose sales, and you should work to decrease the load time of your store if you want to increase sales.

Check your store’s loading speed using this guide, then use the suggestions to make it faster.

Remove Unnecessary Apps & Widgets

It’s better to keep your online store clean, especially if you’ve just started driving traffic to it. Sometimes less is more. If you bombard your customers with Fortune Wheel and scarcity popups as they enter your store, then don’t be surprised if they leave right away.

Therefore, you have to decide which apps are the most useful and delete the unnecessary ones. But how to check which one is better? Maybe spying on the best-selling Shopify store and their keys to success can give you inspiration.

A free software, SimplyTrends, can provide you with a bird’s-eye view of your competitors in a brief report, including revenue, ranks, and Shopify apps they are using. After knowing their secrets to apps, improving your business strategies must be very easy.

If it works well and increases sales, keep it. Test out various apps until you find one that helps you increase sales if it doesn’t.

Have A Good Product Description

If you’re looking to make sales, everything has to be perfect and that includes a full, correctly built product description. A good video ad that demonstrates how your product works doesn’t mean you can skip on the product description.

If your product description is just a copy of what you see on Aliexpress, then don’t be surprised if you barely get any sales(no matter how good the product actually is). Your customers suffer from a short-term memory disorder and they need to be constantly reminded about the product you’re selling.

To solve its problem, you can get some fresh ideas from your competitors. Store Comparison allows you to compare your performance with at least 3 competitors for an in-depth analysis to find what you’re missing and opportunities for growth. In doing this, you can have a look at their descriptions of products and learn something from them.

Offer Multiple Payment Options

And if you have the option, it’s always a good idea to include more payment options. Having both payment options available on your store ensures that you won’t lose sales just because one of the options is absent. Some customers prefer paying with PayPal, while others prefer paying with their Visa card.

There are many dropshippers out there that only accept one form of payment and make a killing, so the issue arises when you can only accept one, possibly lower conversion rate option, like PayPal.

Like what is said before, even with a slightly lower conversion rate, you can still generate excellent sales and run a successful dropshipping business if you follow the right procedures.

Offer Free Shipping

Offering free shipping, which eliminates any surprises in the checkout flow, is one way to ensure that your checkout process is seamless in order to convert your customers quickly and without any interruptions.

Customers hate paying for shipping, and this extra step will cause them to pause and consider whether the shipping cost is worthwhile rather than automatically clicking on the Next button and proceeding to the Payment page. As a result, they might leave your store without making a purchase.

My recommendation is to start with a dropshipping store that offers free shipping if you’re starting a new business.

Use Exit Pop-Ups

Exit pop-ups are a requirement in every online store and you should get them regardless of how much traffic you get. Unlike other pop-ups that jump to your customer’s face the moment he visits your store (which is bad!), exit pop-ups only appear when your customer is about to leave.

If the customer is about to leave your store, it’s probably your last opportunity to keep him on your store for a few more seconds for free. Offer him an additional discount, something he can’t resist, and you might eventually persuade him to buy your product.

Look through the Shopify App Store’s selection of Exit Pop-up apps to find the one that best suits your needs; some of them are even free, so there’s no cost to you.

Remove Product Suggestions

One of the mistakes I see on the majority of online stores I review is the random product suggestions just below the product description you’re currently advertising. These product suggestions, which are typically completely random, are interfering with your checkout flow.

The likelihood of the customer who just clicked on your ad and is currently reading your description actually purchasing one of these “related” products and returning to purchase the first product you advertised is virtually nonexistent.

Increase your overall conversion rate by removing these product recommendations from your theme’s settings.

Remove Customer Information Fields Partly or Completely

Take for instance the Phone Number field which is by default mandatory and you can’t proceed to the next step without it, which can slow down your checkout process, or worse, drive them completely away.

When you stop to think about it, there is actually nothing wrong with providing your phone number since it will allow the delivery service to get in touch with you if they are unable to reach you or if they need to give you an update on your order.

However, some people have different viewpoints and dislike sharing their phone number because of SMS spam and obnoxious telemarketers. As a result, there are some people — quite a few of them, in fact — who would rather keep it a secret.

They’ll simply exit the checkout page if you insist on getting their phone number, so it won’t really matter if you tell them that it will only be used by the delivery company.

To make the checkout process even faster, we prefer to remove the Company Name field from all of our stores and make the Phone Number field optional instead of making it mandatory.

To Sum It Up:

There are several useful tips for you guys, so make sure to implement them if you want to increase your store’s overall conversion rate.

Good luck!
