How to Get Your First Sale in Two Weeks

1. How Retargeting Ads Can Help You Get Your First Sale

I had just heard about how effective retargeting blog content was, so I wanted to test it out to see if I could actually land sales that way. We didn’t have an audience built up first but we wanted immediate sales when I was dropshipping products in the fitness niche.

I wrote a few blog posts with influencer quotes because I didn’t want to play the patience game and I wanted to see the concept work, so I did. It wasn’t all retweeted, but enough did so that I was able to make my first few sales using this strategy. Before I started promoting my posts on social media, I made a retargeting ad. As the ad was running, I began contacting all the Twitter influencers in the hopes of getting a retweet.

2. Using a Giveaway to Get Your First Sale

The giveaway attracted a large number of participants and provided numerous entry options, including sharing on social media, referring friends, and more. After one week, a winner was announced, but emails were also sent to all the runners-up notifying them that they had won a prize. You need to make sure your product pricing is high enough that you’ll still make a profit with the gift card and make sure people can’t score free products with your gift card which can put you at a loss. The prize is a $5 gift card to your store. Essentially, she’d host a giveaway on her website for a chance to win a product from the store, and it worked for one of my friends who tried to make money with giveaways on her store.

3. Using Buy and Sell Groups to Get Your First Sale

People join these groups with the expectation that they’ll either be buying or selling on them so people don’t feel like they’re being sold to, and my boyfriend and I have both successfully sold products in them and bought from them as well. They genuinely want to discover fantastic products to purchase. You can find Facebook groups where you can sell goods by searching for terms like “fashion buy and sell groups” in the search bar on the social media platform.

Additionally, there are Facebook groups for specific niches that let you sell specific products. For instance, one of these groups let me sell any niche-related products as long as they weren’t t-shirts. I was able to add my store link so people could purchase directly from the product page, even though the group wasn’t a traditional buy and sell one and was more like a fan page.

4. How Advertising Can Help You Get Your First Sale

Advertising is probably what will help you convert best if you require immediate gratification and want the best chances of making your first sale within the first two weeks. The most direct method of advertising efficiently is firstly learning from winning advertisements and following their advertising strategies. Here comes a tool that can fully work out: SimplyTrends.

Winning advertisements means a relevant higher traffic and play volume I can see in the data from this tool. Then learn from them with similar products as yours. Searching for data from SimplyTrends to get advanced traffic information will help you choose the right one to follow. You should fully pay attention to not only the design of the style but also their public advertising proposal. In Here’s what I learned, I break down all the tactics that I’ve used to get sales with Facebook ads.

item. The key to Facebook ads is experimentation, so test out the items with high order volumes first. You could start out by making several $5 ads to determine which item is your best seller.

5. Using an exit-intent pop-up to get your first sale

advertising, social media promotion, or posting in well-liked Facebook groups, perhaps. You’ll need to find ways to drive traffic to your website; Shopify has apps like Wheelio that you can use for this purpose.

Then, just as they are about to leave your website, a pop-up appears asking them for their email address and providing them with a discount code they can use to make a purchase in your store. Plus, you can use the email list you build from the app to send out newsletters a few times during the first two weeks to increase sales. I’ve personally tried this on my store and have seen direct sales from the coupon codes we’ve given out with this app.

6. Try out Affiliate Marketing to Get Your First Sale

You can browse the Shopify app store for affiliate networks, but that alone, especially in only two weeks, won’t be enough. Great cash incentives and free gift offers can help. Since no one has heard of your brand, you need to provide an incentive that will intrigue potential affiliates when you’re building out a new store and use affiliates to handle your marketing for you.

You can reach out to well-known influencers on social media and offer an affiliate deal for promoting your products to their audience rather than paying their rate in order to find more affiliates. You can also join Facebook groups for affiliate marketing to find affiliates looking for new brands to partner with. It’s a numbers game; the more people you contact, the more likely you are to make your first sale.

7. Promote Your Brand on Social Media

With the exception of Toronto’s enjoyable date-night activity, Medieval Times. I recently celebrated an anniversary with my boyfriend. No one on Twitter cared. I’m not talking about posting on social media; that’s just the norm that you should be doing.

They probably used a tool like Moz’s FollowerWonk, where you can search potential customers by location or the number of followers they have in addition to using keywords to find your ideal customer. If you consistently try this strategy a few times per day, you might end up getting your first sale this way. You can play around with keywords and do some outreach the good ol’ fashioned way. Accordingly, you can use keywords like your niche keyword, recommendations, ideas, and need to buy if you wanted to find influencers for your niche.

8. Tap into niche blogs and publications

We included links in their online article and were successful in driving a few sales as a result. I began by concentrating on magazines and online publications that were based in Canada. The magazines I pitched were still very popular with hundreds of thousands of followers on social media but not as popular as other publications in the same category. I contacted countless niche blogs and magazines when I was launching a beauty brand online, looking for publications like Cosmopolitan that weren’t as well-known so I’d have a chance of getting featured.

Concentrate on blogs that regularly feature product lists, such as the “Top 10 Summer Products” or “50 Phone Cases You Need to Buy.” I discovered that it’s actually quite easy to get your brands on these types of lists. In order to get requests from journalists writing about your niche, you can use a free tool like HARO. It can help you get a link back to your website or product page in order to increase sales for your store. Compile a list of the top blogs in your niche, find out who the author is so you don’t send a generic, nameless pitch, and research the blogs to see if they have any niche blogs that are particularly successful.

Conclusion

These suggestions will help you increase the likelihood of making your first sale before your free trial expires, but as your business begins to expand, you’ll need to experiment with more sophisticated strategies to keep scaling your business.
